Wow, it really makes me happy to read about someone else who ended up in this field due to lacking sufficient ram! Now if only I had spent less time playing Doom and more time doing practical things with the computer, I might be in a differ

I've seen articles like this before, and whenever I read them I think about a time on vacation when I could quite possibly have drowned. I had traveled abroad with some friends and went into relatively shallow water. However, I hadn&#x

Very cool. When I was in Japan I met a man who had taught himself English mostly from watching movies and tv shows. His proficiency not only exceeded that of my Japanese friends who were studying English in college (although the state of En

I'm also very much looking forward to this reusable, component-based approach using Javascript, because I'm currently enjoying using a similar paradigm on a project I'm working on with the Seaside framework in Smalltalk. I don't know if I c

The experience of a friend and myself when we returned to D3 about three months ago was that for a relatively small amount of money (250k gold perhaps) you could get gear good enough to play on some of the lower monster power levels of Infe

The liberation from this fear comes in a somewhat disingenuous way: humility. I'm not saying that as a slight against you (as if you are proud) in any way whatsoever. Nor am I espousing humility as a sort of passive acceptance of "the way t

Well, "thou" also had a use for a period of time as an intimate form of "you." The intention behind the use of "Thou" to address God in the Bible is not to place distance between the speaker and God; on the contrary, it is to indicate close

I've been going through the free book Designing for the Web, and while it has some older material in terms of code examples about CSS, it contains a great amount of useful information about and theory behind design. A section of the book th

I'm extremely interested in this component based system -- I'm currently working on a project in the Seaside framework for Smalltalk and have fallen in love with the composability offered by this approach. However, I'm also a fan of Clojure
