As of 15, iOS has pretty good support for MFA built-in. You create your login/password as usual and then scan the QR code to setup MFA too. It's not easy yet, but it's very possible for HN readers (i.e. tech-savvy).

No, what it does is force development thru sprawl which decimates wild lands. Our cities need to grow upwards, not outwards.

The entire premise of the book “Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance” is “Can we define ‘quality’?” At the end of the day you can specify a dozen different metrics but someone will game it to cut corners. There’s no replacement for ca

Realistically I don't see any benefit at all. That's not to say it's a bad change, just not one that provides much of any real world benefit to a thread-based system like Sidekiq. I would love to be proven wrong though!

Well done, a very unique design! What made you spec the motor so high? A 2400W motor is very powerful for a bike. For Americans, 750W is one horsepower so that's over 3 HP which should get the bike to ~40mph or 70km/h.

No one is arguing against suburbs. We are arguing that car infrastructure (roads 100% devoted to car traffic, free curbside parking and parking lots everywhere) should not be subsidized. You want to use a car? Pay for it. Otherwise free car

So much of American zoning code makes our suburbs into ugly, inhumane places. StrongTowns.org is a good place to start. Their blog is great and will quickly radicalize you.

That's easy to fix. The feds just say "You won't get $20 billion in infrastructure grants unless you do X" and suddenly zoning reform is on the table. Like so: https://www.usatoday.com/in-depth/news&

And that means federal reform to municipal zoning codes, which are the primary driver of suburban sprawl. It should be legal to replace any single family home with a quadplex. Oregon did it at the state level in 2019 with HB2001.

Any designer who does not understand and value the information density in the design of a tool like this fundamentally does not understand how the tool is used.

Also, consider an e-bike? It's a shame that the US continues to invest in sprawl, roads and parking lots everywhere. Cities could be so much more green and vibrant.
