I'm a senior developer and I've never touched TypeScript and don't have any desire to unless I have no choice. I haven't worked on any projects that were large enough to warrant type checking or where I felt it would mak

I know it's a cesspit but I would add 4chan(nel) to this list also. It's pretty much a functional bare bones site that just works and has not changed much afaik in a decade or more unlike its counterpart Reddit which seems to chan

Good points. I think we are slowly becoming commodified or at least there will be greater stratification between different types of developer with much higher salaries on one and and much lower on the other.

Well it used to be that you would learn HTML and CSS, then some JavaScript for basic UI, dom interactions then later Ajax. However now it seems people are learning React, Vue etc first and so to a man with a hammer every problem looks like

What about Musk making tweets about bitcoin whilst his company has a large investment. Isn't that market manipulation or maybe does not apply to rogue billionaires.

How can I move away from Google. All my millions of accounts and services (even ones I've forgotten and may one day need) are linked to my Gmail. And frankly, I find it hard to trust many others with some of my secure information (pass

No what you are talking about is called fluid design not responsive. So whether a website responds fluidly to browser resizing is a design decision and not indicative of something being broken. This is such a common and frustrating misconce

I would say both. User in the sense that people expect the web to behave and be just as rich and fluid as a native app (and will often leave or mistrust you otherwise) and Client in the sense that having a rich web experience drives revenue

My comment was actually around Node JS. Writing unit and integration test for async server code and god forbid some kind of critical or secure code is not something I'm comfortable doing. As far as FE testing I don't have any issu

I'm in the same boat as OP, although a little older. I started my HTML journey around 2000 and have been working as a "front-end" since graduating in 2007. I think the complexity in front end has been driven primarily by two

I never use the tipping option in delivery/taxi apps because I don't trust them. Prefer to give a tip directly when I can otherwise not.

Would love to see something like this for the original Wii. I really love the UI of that system and the 3DS too. Huge icons and skeuomorphism with a nice light colour scheme. The Switch UI feels so slapdash in comparison.

The worst dark pattern I've noticed lately is in the cookie acceptance pop-ups where you take 30s to uncheck all the cookies and then press the "Accept All" button, so evil and annoying!!

I always find it quite funny how many people label themselves as "Expert" in each category. It's always a large majority. Seems like overconfidence is endemic to the human race. I've been doing JS for 13 years and I am f

You can use variables in SSI and if/else conditions. So you could set state based on the URL or other environment variables. It's actually fairly powerful and you can get quite a lot done with it. https://httpd.apache.o
