I did read it. I also read Go 1.19's release notes when they came out. I also read rsc's reply to the original post. I cannot figure out how Drew went back in time to add -reuse to Go 1.19 and proxy improvements to the Go team

Since -reuse was added in August and originally planned much earlier, it's unclear what Drew actually did, if anything, to speed this up. In the meantime, he has opted to... only solve the problem (if such a problem exists) for only So

As opposed to OP's "Garshin's just sad because he didn't come to Jesus"? This entire subthread was bait, don't act high and mighty when someone bites.

Garshin's life very nearly bookends the US Civil War, the deadliest war in American history fought over the right to literally own another person. In what real sense is America less extreme?

I mostly agree, but to be a little fair to Pichai: He didn't get a company that was really in a dominant (or at least not already rapidly declining) market position. Microsoft missing the boat on the Internet might have been inherited

The debate over the causes of (perceived?) decline of Go in the east predates AlphaGo and most theories involve straightforward geopolitics more than any AI conspiracy theory. In the west it still seems to only be driving more interest in t

I can't speak to its effects in Asia where I can imagine there's been some more direct economic impact, but as a long-time casual player in Europe, interest from my social groups has mostly (but slightly) risen post-AlphaGo.

A lead dev isn't necessarily a team lead. They could be a technical lead, or an architect, or simply a senior dev with deep knowledge of one specific project. They may not have the interest, skill, or authority to deal with the situati

That table shows whether the ccTLD itself has an IDN form e.g. 宝石の十字架.日本. You can register 宝石の十字架.jp just fine (obviously, if you think about how IDNA works).
