What are your SLAs? Do you have any data on the latency overhead this service introduces? Historical uptimes and postmortems on outages? These are all factors I'd use to evaluate the engineering maturity of a service like this.

At Uber we use redis as a broker for 10k+ requests per second (pushing 50k one some days) with up to several million items backed up. This is a single redis instance with replication turned on and RDB snapshots for durability. Curious how o

What do you do exactly? Does the stripe api really need simplification? If you're trying to take the development out of using stripe, why not just use Square?

I've taken Uber to OAK and other airports from SF dozens of times. You had a spot of bad luck with cancellations—they're in fact extremely rare, and I've taken hundreds of trips. On top of that, drivers cannot see your desti

It's frustrating that this perspective doesn't get more attention. HN and tech in general pays lip service to addressing social problems, but it's primarily concerned with congratulating its own success and getting defensive

Your website is deeply and terribly confusing. "Deliver purchase intended visitors?" Who says that? I would have no idea what you do without looking at your docs or this post.

Dear companies supporting this project, I've got a better idea: pledge a fraction of your profits with a charity of your choice instead of conditioning your philanthropy on some arbitrary metric.

What this guy said. This book is analogous to learning a programming language by reading only the documentation for its standard library. You need to understand the fundamentals to know how to use what you're reading. Browse /r&#x

Webflow, an existing product, is much more powerful and pretty affordable. Macaw, if it's as awesome as it looks in the demo, may be better than Webflow. This, this is thoroughly underwhelming. Sorry. If open source is your biggest dif

I love the idea. And this deserves more attention. But two gripes: 1.) "Hacker News Nation is Live" is a very ambiguous headline. A lot of people who would've found this interesting never clicked through because what is this?

I regularly give apps permission to post on my wall, because almost every app will ask me before posting. In addition, the posts usually contain relevant content: spotify posts songs I listen to, goodreads posts book updates. Your app pos

Sorry, but lower your pricing on the 2nd and 3rd tiers by at least half and I'll consider the purchase. Too bad the pricing is nuts, because this looks like an excellent resource. But there are comparable quality resources available

The other posts have covered the copy/design issues pretty thoroughly, but they largely ignore something I've found devastates conversion: you have not one, not two, but FOUR calls to action above the fold. Users are more likely t

As a Webflow user, this seems to handle a lot of the things that annoy me about Webflow and gives the author more freedom. All around, it seems like a better product. Super keen on giving this a go when it's ready. Oh and no monthly
