We remove our shoes inside. But a carpet cleaner told me that being barefoot inside is worse than wearing outside shoes due to the oils in your feet. I looked this up and it seems to bear some weight. So now we have to wear socks.

There is something called yielded cost. The actual same part that yields to a higher bin costs more due to lower yield. So it’s very unusual to sell it for less. You see the same thing in TV monitors. The best displays, representing the

As a kid I was totally obsessed with this plane. As cheesy as it sounds the movie The Right Stuff served as inspiration. I wanted to become someone to fly it. I must have built this model at different scales 15 different times and dev

HW engineer here. So it’s generally not true that you’re getting the same product at half the cost. Firstly, while all the HW may actually be the “same” it’s probably been binned for different specs. This means that the yield is lower for

I’m my view I think the early emergence of consciousness says that it’s more complicated not less. My reasoning is that it must mean the framework for consciousness is embedded in the basic building blocks of life. If that’s the case th

I think it’s more than just electricians that we need. We need additional training for electricians so they understand how some of the newer technologies work. I bought a high end LED light fixture that had a more modern dimmer that ensu

Ah thanks for the explanation. Yeah we build our own OS for that specific device. We don’t use Xilinx’s PetaLinux because it’s too limiting for the SW we want to run on top of it.

Actually you can do a lot of computation with filters but you’re completely incorrect about what a FPAA is. The FPAA is a matrix of switched capacitors. Such a matrix can be used to design an analog computer. There’s a pretty huge body of

None. This is an analog computer. There are devices such as the field programmable analog array (FPAA) however that may be suitable. https://www.anadigm.com/fpaa.asp
