Killer track but technically Firestarter isn't Drum and Bass (or Jungle). Prodigy slowed everything down after Experience (first album).

One caveat is doing screen space means anything offscreen doesn’t contribute to lighting. For a fixed perspective dungeon or 2d game it works great, but a light source behind a column or in another room will cast no light on the scene

Most PS2 games used the PS1 hardware for audio/sfx so you freed the main CPU for rendering/gameplay. I believe Gran Tourismo 3 used the ps1 hardware for everything except rendering, which was the kind of nuts thing you could do if

Not a street I was aware of, but it's located between the Qualcomm and General Atomics campuses and a stones throw from UCSD. Also has great freeway and rail (commuter) access and modern research focussed buildings for lease.

Concentrating on the professional market is a perfectly valid business model. I would assume you either need a completely compelling and unique product that is a no-brainer for those companies, or a good marketing team to break you into bu

This looks interesting, as a hobbyist with a EEE background and a programming career I like the idea of designing circuits using code. But maybe I'm not the target audience here... pricing seems high for anyone who is not using this co

Euphoria was used for a subset of animations, for the most part traditional mocapped animations (and a lot of them) were used to drive character movements. I don’t know if motion matching was used on GTA4 but it was on other Rockstar games

If you've not touched 3d graphics before start with OpenGL with a view to moving on to a modern API soon after. OpenGL does a lot of work for you behind the scenes and abstracts away most of the memory management, state management and

And that is why this case is being brought. Amazon are requiring that the price on Amazon is the cheapest price, even if the retailer would like to sell it on their own store (or eBay, Walmart, etc) for cheaper. If it’s sold on Amazon you

Gave ok suggestions for a $500 desktop, apart from including a redundant $45 cooler (Ryzen 3200g already has a passable cooler in the box). Changing to a $550 build keeps the same cpu but changes its price from $100 to $170, adds a $20 cool

Hardware accelerated is still not zero cost. Plus if you are publishing for the other console and/or PC there is a question as to whether you want to do the extra work for one platform.

What formats are better suited? To my knowledge most games use mp3-like compression for all their audio. Console hardware often has decompression support, it’s reasonably compact, quality/bitrate can be tuned by the sound engineers a

For story based games (with voice acting) absolutely yes. Dozens of story characters, hundreds of supporting npc and all of them talking as either part of your missions or just to fill in the world. Maybe 50 hours is a lot for a non story

There have been attempts to go that route from both the hardware (eg Nvidia NV1, 1995) and software side (eg Quake 3 Area, 1999) and many attempts to render curved surfaces since. Generally triangles have remained dominant because they are

I don’t understand this comment. If my model is training for 2 days I expect to be doing other work while I wait for the results. Are/were there engineers/researchers that expect to get paid to do nothing while they wait for pain

Some games certainly do that and most audio engines will allow the sound designers to add random variations, along with randomly selecting between different samples. There is only so much you can do with pitch changes and creative use of fi

Vulcan is on windows, Linux, Android, and OSX via moltenvk. Compute (GPGPU) is a requirement for all Vulcan drivers, technically drivers do not have to support rasterization but I don’t know of any hardware that doesn’t. Outside of Apple e

The story fills in all the reasons why ‘management’ start at #1. Company A buys company B for a product it believes in. Company A knows that company B was incapable of getting product to finish line, which is why they sold out. No problem

One tidbit that may be of interest (or not) is that if you see doubles being used in N64 C code it is almost certainly accidental. Doubles were slow on the N64 mips CPU but the mips C compiler would happily output them and promote surround
