that thread is horrible. Somehow no one there sees that people die after retirement, maybe it makes sense not to retire at all? as for me, I don't know where I am going to be one year from now, not talking about 30 years. It makes sen

Some time ago when money were cheap it made sense to grow, now when money are expensive it makes sense to shrink. I don't get why people get offended by it. we are not living in a "fair world" whatever that means. You can die

thank you, that makes sense to try, the economy is dead though, I probably won't be able to find anything in a year with all the layoffs happening.

I still have to try, what I have to lose? I am still going to run out of time sooner or later, I should make it worth it. Otherwise what is the point.

> Why can't ants comprehend beetles if they are "similar or same" this one is tricky how do we define similarity? ants to ants is easy because we can assume they are the same or the difference is negligible.

Do ants comprehend humans? No they don't. Ants can comprehend only other ants. By this logic we can interact only with civs that are similar or same as us. How much detectable technological signature we emit for others to detect? I am

100% second this, thank you it is hard to say almost 99% product is not engineering but what it enables company to do. In a sense this division is psychological: either company cares about engineering and makes it a priority or it doesn&#x

thank you, so it more dependent not on a type of company but on how the company runs itself. It can have its main product not in software, but it can bet on R&D in order to outrun their competition. And the other way around is true too

I am sorry if that sounds condescending, in reality I question my engineering ability almost every day. There is a lot of things that I know horribly less than any engineer worth their salt.

that looks like I am a good candidate for Amazon, lol. but on a serious note, the good solution is sort of obvious and in general you encounter much more interesting problems on a daily basis, but than again I am working in Clojure where w

Trying to predict future based on the past is foolish. I will try to do my best based on what I register about our times. My prediction is not about a 2023 specifically, but mostly about the next 10-20 years. Although, as the rate of chan
