I think the pay is more equal in Europe. I have finished multiple studies and work as a software developer, but I only make about 15% more than a friend who did not finish an academic study and works in logistics. If you're a bartender

It's mostly a matter of perception, but I agree wholeheartedly. While the US is a beautiful, rich, and diverse country, it is hardly developed in many aspects. The education and healthcare is problematic and class-based, and many polic

Agreed. College/university is more of a party experience for most, it doesn't necessarily help you doing your job (although it may help you do your job, since many employers require you to some degree).

Well, I would argue that eating less calories definitely help. But sugar doesn't stop the hunger, and you need a certain amount of vitamin, protein, and fibers as well. My mom calls food with just sugar 'empty calories', a te

Nice post. About the article: it must have taken some balls (for lack of a better expression) to turn down the position as von Neumann's assistant.

Well, it is super useful do be able to do exact arithmetic. For example, to not get scammed when you buy anything, or share a bill. I've seen American university students who don't know how to compute a percentage of a given amoun

The name has its origin in type theory (you also have product types). It's not the best name I guess, but not the worst either: If we have type A with n terms and type B with m terms, then the sum type of A and B has n + m terms. There

Artificial? I would say cultural. I would surely like there to be more women in CS. There are literally no women at my office, and the only women I met for the last six months are from HR. I am single, and so is about 50% of my coworkers -

I am quite bitter about the state of affairs. If a company decides to screw you over, they pretty much can. Legally, there is not much you can do if you're not filthy rich. The most you can do is make a fuss about it on social media. I

My view on this is a little bit different. Linux Torvalds and Richard Stallman are not willing to turn to degenerate practices for profit. People like Steve Jobs are. However, most people are impressed by casual impressions and simply don&#

While I don't like Microsoft, I think Bill Gates is an extremely smart and well-meaning guy. In public opinion, it is far more important how charismatic you are. IMO Steve Jobs was a terrible person, and this can be seen from his actio
