You nailed it - Evernote is just trying to make their investors happy while doing there best to not piss off users TOO much. Having been in this situation myself I can tell you it's a not great for customers at all. But you do what you

I agree - and you normally lease land for a travel trailer in short spurts (for instance, the winter) and move on.

John Oliver (love him or hate him does not matter!) did a video on this issue a while back: http://time.com/5565832/john-oliver-mobile-homes-last-week-t... The TL;DR is owning a mobile home but leasing the land (lot) u

I am not familiar with graphqL and this tool looks interesting but after spending 10 minutes on the site trying to understand what it does (in layman terms) I am totally lost. Could be me or it could be the developer needs to explain it bet

This is a well known feature in the SaaS billing world - most large gateways and billing systems (think Stripe, Recurly, Zorua, etc...) have supported this for years. In a recurring revenue model MOST clients are paying via credit card and

What does the age of someone have to do with them downvoting you? You asked a question that you could have easily answered yourself.

USA Today is live streaming a presentation about this from the National Science Foundation and they seem to be taking the point of view that Einstein's theory of general relativity has held up SO FAR. There is still quite a bit of rese

"Grandfathering in breeds loyalty, and truthfully, those existing creators" Do you have any proof of this? Everything you are saying SOUNDS like it would be correct but it also sounds like a lot of wishful thinking too. I have see

This is effectively a price increase and a good move for the future of Patreon. This is a fat cat capitalist opinion but they should increase the cut for all existing customers too. Grandfathering is a nice gesture but the additional revenu

They price match Amazon which is really no secret, it’s just hard to do since they have more overhead.

This article mentions Clarence "Kelly" Johnson. If you don't know who he is and care to learn more about one of the best engineers that ever lived (SR-71 is his work), check out his book: https://www.amazon.com

You seem to be looking at this through the lens of best case scenario. These are kids, many if all of them are probably mid puberty. The phones are not being used to take notes. They are playing fortnight, doing whatever replaced texting at

Oh how the times have changed! I graduated from high school over 18 years ago and ANY cell phone was confiscated and you had to go see the principal to get it back.

It's amazing to me that CNBC was able to pull such a long piece out of this. The image they used of Bezos is funny too, as if he was ashamed or something. I'm guessing he has a particularly good prime day since Amazon stock hit a

I never said "just something that happened 20 years ago", so your quote is incorrect - honest mistake I'm sure. My point is that businesses HAVE to adapt and change to stay relevant, if they don't - they die. Looking at

It feels to me that you are trying to use something Microsoft said 20 years ago against them. 20 years may as well be 2000 years when it comes to technology - I don't see how this thread is suppose to be productive (maybe that's n

Unfortunately a lot of the "Data Scientist" I meet are nothing more than excel / sheets gurus. Most of them have never written a line of code or syntax that is more complex than a nested vlookup. I hope the tide changes here

My point exactly, if you use the phone for just 1 hour a day and keep it for 2 years then you pay ~$1.36 a day for the hardware. I use my phone for 2-3 hours a day so the cost is probably closer to $0.45/day. It makes perfect sense, ev
