It feels to me that you are trying to use something Microsoft said 20 years ago against them. 20 years may as well be 2000 years when it comes to technology - I don't see how this thread is suppose to be productive (maybe that's not the point)?

- mfoy_ 8y agoIt's not "just something that happened 20 years ago" it's "pretty much everything they've done over the past 20 years"... I think skeptics are just (and rightfully so) waiting for the other shoe to drop.
- mercwear 8y agoI never said "just something that happened 20 years ago", so your quote is incorrect - honest mistake I'm sure. My point is that businesses HAVE to adapt and change to stay relevant, if they don't - they die. Looking at what a business did 20 years to adapt and not die almost certainly has nothing to do with the same decisions being made today by that business.
- mikec3010 8y agoThe decisions they made and evils they committed 20 years ago propelled them into the success they now enjoy.
- ihattendorf 8y agoThe same can be said for many companies, and going back further pretty much every country as well.
- walterstucco 8y agoThat could be a merit If they changed nonetheless it's a good thing Even Scrooge get to be forgiven at the end of the book
