I don't think I've seen anyone with their fingers stretched out or diagonal like that as a 'home row' position, though. It makes much more sense to 'default' to having your hands somewhat straight and on the ke

My first encounter with ED25519 was via Gitlab. Didn't have a clue there was something 'else' to do and it's good to be able to read the discussion here. Can I assume RSA is still 'good enough' though and somet

I use 'vanilla' vim on my servers, and I dislike the defaults enough that it bothers me, but not enough that I've ever gone through the effort of setting things up. Micro would be perfect in my situation, because I'd get

Yeah, I was joking, but honestly I'd love to use this as a nice out-of-the-box solution if it had Vim keybindings. I use Emacs with Vim keybindings on my dev machine, and VSCode for most coding, so I only really use 'proper'

Same here. While I've been programming since I was eight or so, working on a mod/total conversion for Thief and building levels for Jedi Knight was what got me properly on that track. I don't miss the days of JED/JKEdit

And yet my high-end Android phone is slower and jankier where it counts most to me: UI stuff. From what I've read this has to do with the Android OS, and things are getting better and better. but my point is that this sluggishness is o

This illustrates pretty well one of the main reasons I switched to Apple years ago: I know what I'm getting and at least until keyboard-gate it did "just work". While it's true that I could get better-specced laptop, pho

Reliability was one problem. The other was that for many of us it was uncomfortable to use. I would actually feel some pain in my hands/wrists after using this keyboard for a while. Both the older keyboard and the newer keyboard are fi

I find that the optimal solution is to load all images 'above the fold' (perhaps optimizing for a 'tall' screen) and lazy-load the rest, when they get close to being on-screen. if possible I also try to make sure loading

However tiresome it can get, there is a value, or at least meaningful information in repetition in itself. The constant desire for 'new' can be harmful as a phenomenon. I suspect many politically unpopular bills/initiatives d

I bought a 2017 MBP and figured that surely it can't be that bad in practice. It was, to the point where I could barely type sentences without having to correct double-letter inputs. And that's without anything failing. Thankfully

I can't help but mention that I rather like the alternative approach of keeping steps 1-3, and using Phoenix LiveView (or C#'s Blazor?) for the rest. Not saying it's better or worse, but I quite like it.

I'm a Vim guy but with Spacemacs it was easy to get into Emacs. The spacebar action to see following actions (whatever it's called) really helped me figure out what the keyboard shortcuts were for various commands, or it just told

Nothing in your comment argues against the claim that all (both) parties are irredeemably corrupt though. You're just arguing that Trump is worse. I do agree with the latter statement, but I completely understand why so many people jus
