Not sure what people are interested in CO2 sensors for, but I use them as a proxy for ventilation in indoor spaces, which is then a proxy for covid risk. It won't tell you if the air is being filtered (need MERV13 or better), but a lot

Pretty impressive, if true that it can stop infection, and potentially then transmission. Nasal vaccines have the ability to do this because of the potental for neutralizing activity along the nasal muscosa. They make the claim so we'l

I love to see Hacker News geeking out on heat pumps and that this is currently on top of the home page! Don't forget that this community has an outsized influence on the world as early adopters and innovators.

I can definitely clarify that further, but to restate it, there are new sources and new technologies that can allow us to meet the requirements for the transition. For example, the Salton Sea contains enough lithium dissolved in brines unde

We don't need to go to the ocean for metals. There are new technologies that can recover metals much less destructively from "unconventional resources" that are already exposed or naturally exposed. And some of those mienral

This is insane again as it was just found that an infection lowers your IQ by 3 points (2 big recent studies)*. The average person now has over 3 infections to date. We aren't even far enough in the research to understand the compound

The point is more generally to allow you to go longer without having to go to your inbox and/or to be able to turn of notifications for email. The RSS comes in quietly and the body and preview is an AI summarized. Often times I'm

Is anyone out there looking for an RSS style feed of their email? In a sort of non-disruptive scrolling mechanism... possibly with AI summary of the emails. This would not replace your inbox, but allow you you to not have to go into your in

Sibelco's Aheim mine essentially supplies a large part of the world's olivine today. It is located in a Fjord with its own port. The transportation distance is very small. See their website here: https://www.sibelco.com
