I agree that "dark side" is over the top. (I never thought Microsoft was so terrible either.) Maybe some of the resentment here is from the lingering feeling that Google should still be the best thing on the internet. For quite a long time,

This is going to be a problem. Reader is fairly important to me. I'm dropping Google a note and offering to pay a subscription if they continue services. Probably won't make a dent, but worth a try.

Seconded. For people who are interested in DIY approaches, I recommend reading Seligman's Learned Optimism. I am noticeably less depressed (dysthimic, really) than I used to be and Seligman's books were part of the difference.

Another vote for mobi/epub, even if the code blocks are unreadable. I understand the aversion to negative reviews. Maybe you can offer this with a disclaimer for those who bought the PDF.

Sometimes I walk to think, though usually it's more mental mumbling than anything focused. I do think my daily walk is good for my mental health. I feel the difference if I go without one for very long. If you are a busy/frantic person, wal

This thread is pretty stale and you may never see this, but I wanted to remark on the bitterness evident in your last post anyway. If this is how you feel after your last relationship, then your last relationship sucked . Be glad you got o

What you say is understandable. Your first bullet point made me chuckle. I'm not out to bash you personally. If you or your girlfriend had entered the relationship with the intention of either committing or moving on, and (let's suppose) en

If people stop having legal/religious marriages, but mostly end up in long term common law marriages (do you have that term in the UK?), I don't see that as a very important difference. The quality of the relationship matters more than the

Well, there is something to this. If I were single, I'd want to be pretty cautious myself. That said, I think not wanting to make a mistake, and not wanting to make a decision, are two different things. If you're with someone who wants to g

I'm interested in anecdotes. Are these long term relationships? I've seen cases where the guy seems to want to rush into marriage quickly and the woman backs away, but never an LTR with the roles tilted that way.

I backed Wasteland 2, and if I see voice acting with lip-synced animations I'll be disappointed at the waste of resources. Like the other guy said, I'm expecting a play experience similar to Fallout 1/2. However, if I end up getting nothin

What we are complaining about is the killing of discussion that promotes learning. You have to ignore your users sometimes, and maybe this is one of those times. But if you are getting a consistent message from your users that they're unhap

I might try using this to teach Python to kids in our homeschool group. I haven't kicked the tires yet, but it sounds like it might be a really easy way to get a bunch of sharable environments set up for a class.

The Forbes headline seems to say WePay is backing or at least somehow rooting for Occupy Wall Street. It's a misleading headline. OWS is using WePay for donations, and WePay didn't shut down the OWS accounts, omg the controversy.
