The antitrust issues were a small piece of a much larger puzzle. Microsoft wasn't dead because of anti-trust issues. They were dead because Ballmer took them in the wrong direction. He made lots of money, but killed the culture of Micr

What Paul wrote in 2007 could be true, while what you wrote about Microsoft in 2024 could also be true. Microsoft changed. And for the better. The death was short lived, but in many ways, especially in the cultural zeitgeist of software eng

That's a problem I desperately hope the US has to encounter soon. Too much demand and we have to accelerate our plans to satisfy all those people on bikes!

My wife and I were religious when we were dating and engaged. We did not have sex before marriage with each other. We are coming up on 20 years of marriage in December. I would estimate that we have sex between 1-4 times/week. There ar

One thing that always surprises me is how toothless any anti-trust settlement is. I don't think I have ever seen an anti-trust fine that was so painful that it would deter people from trying to do it in the first place. It almost alway

When discussing wages and such people imply that it's a balanced situation, because if someone doesn't like the wage they can simply not work at the company. That is theoretically true, but we see pushback on strikes and unions. S

9 weeks of severance for a company with 1 billion in net cash is pathetic. We find out a lot about leaders of companies when they go through layoffs. You'll notice they often have much more generous terms of the severance when their em

I left the Apple Store worse off than when I arrived. They have a bug in their software when you add a replacement AirPod that makes them unable to reconnect (the case, in my situation). They then pass the pain of that bug in their software

I had a similar issue with Apple a few days ago. I was running and an AirPod fell out of my ear and I just happened to be by a drainage drain. It fell through the grate. I immediately rode my bike to the Apple Store (still with a working ca

I can see how a CEO would look at a long term lease and regret the financial commitment and then see in person as more compelling to not have as much regret. That seems plausible, but foolish, because of the sunk cost fallacy. I can't
