I don't know how terminfo works, but if possible turning off colors in xterm should change the terminfo to say it doesn't support colors. If that is possible, I would consider that a bug in xterm.

This could be a good place to have a traditional sales team. Now, I usually hate that type of thing with a burning passion. The first thing I do when I see "contact us" where the price should be is look to find an alternative to b

Would be ironic if Microsoft funded the development of the best thing to ever happen to Linux gaming.

Was Van Gogh developed custom for Valve? I think I remember talk about Van Gogh from before the Steam Deck was announced, and at that time it wasn't presented as a custom chip but delayed and troubled cheap gaming APU project. Silicon

Kraft Singles are only about 50% cheese, so it's fair to call them "not cheese". You can get process cheese that is actually cheese from brands such as Boars Head. The "process" part just means there's an emu

C# FileInfo uses reference equality, because that's the default for objects and they didn't override it. Why? I suppose they thought of it as a helper to get information about a file (or open it), rather than being a file handle i

That's basically what he ended up doing, except that the address and PO box had different ZIP codes. Also any store that does address validation wont allow that. Another reason why addresses should just be multi-line text boxes.

HBM requires a pretty expensive and dense silicon interposer, which should be sufficient to connect the IO dies. They're probably just using an infinity fabric network between the dies anyway so it's pretty high level.

I remember CGP Grey talked about staying with his wife's family in rural Hawaii, on his Cortex podcast. His address included something like "take a left at the big tree". The additional complication was that the USPS wouldn&#

Could you explain how the tricycles work, practically? Auspost delivers parcels, correct? That tricycle looks like it could fit about one days worth of package deliveries for my street. Then it would need to go back to the post office. Unle

I'm going to guess that the 6nm chiplets are analogous to the EPYC IO die, and have the IO, memory controllers, and last level cache. The compute dies are stacked on the IO dies, which are stacked on an interposer. The interposer conn

Generally "game detection" is done by finding apps that use full-screen exclusive presentation. Could also look for windows that are doing the "borderless windowed" thing. That should be pretty simple and accurate on its

I vaguely remember that the iGPUs in the 7000 series had some trouble with Linux support. May be wrong, but do look into that. Might need a bleeding-edge kernel and mesa.

The X3D chips do at least have a reduced TDP of 120W vs 170W (except for the 7800X3D vs the confusingly comparable 7700X's 105W). The other thing is that, at least in DIY PC (and botique builders like CyberPower) the "gaming"

The noise thing is interesting. Modern games tend to have lots of noise. There's often a noise or "film grain" post processing filter to make the game look less artificial. Lighting effects often have noise injected at many s

I'd bet there's a professional lighting product that'll do that. Something like the lights they use to project arrows on the floor at IKEA. I don't know enough about that domain to know what they're called, sorry.

AM5 boards aren't any cheaper than that. I'd say that Intel boards are generally cheaper in fact, though that has narrowed with Z790. You do get to use the AMD boards for more than two CPU generations though.
