One of the pillars of fair use is whether it disrupts the market for the original work. The explicit goal of gen ai is to replace artists and their original work.

To provide at least one positive example, I'm using fly.io to host a website I made for a friend (for her college capstone project), so I'm on the now-legacy hobby plan paying nothing, and I have had zero problems.

But you’re not _just_ housing them, are you? They also end up with criminal records making it harder to get secure jobs and housing in the future. Investing in building more affordable high density housing would be better for the people whi

I just got a Kobo Clara Color over their cheaper models largely for the page turn buttons (and being able to highlight in multiple colors of course). Combined with how shockingly light it is (lighter than my phone), one handed reading is ex

The official “export templates” that you use need to be able to run any game you create with the stock engine, so they are fully featured. You have the option (and it’s recommended) to compile your own export templates, at which point you c

For me, I found Zig to be really un-ergonomic especially when trying to hack something together quickly. Do I know that printing to stdout could fail? Sure. Do I want to explicitly handle that potential failure every single time I want to

Can I asked what you’ve used? I was trying out Kagi for a while but it seems like they’ve been pivoting to focusing on their own GPT and putting GenAI summaries in the search feed. I’m currently defaulting to DDG but the search results are

I was actually looking for the “web” filter today as I got the generative experience for the first time, and it wasn’t there. Once it does roll out though I’ll be keeping an eye out for a user script that auto switches to that filter. I can

Here’s something most cars can do: if the power is cut off, I can still open the car door without having to pry off a speaker from the door and fish for an unlabeled release cord. There’s just a handle on the door, the same one I use to ope

An EVSE (what this project is) only does three things. It advertises the maximum amperage supported by the circuit, it listens for the car to say that it’s ready to charge, and then it supplies 120-240V AC line voltage across the main pins.
