Much of it is demand side. People are replacing their Macbooks from 2013 and up. It’s saying a lot about Intel mobile chips as well as the new M1 chips that basically redefined how Macbooks can be used which is to say you don’t need to be n

And of course you can but usually the money just follows along. And I've not met a single person in my life who works two hours a day on his/her passion. None. Edit: correction it was two hours per WEEK.

No that’s not my point at all. If you’re in that category of engineers who basically chase money and work as little as you can instead of chasing projects that align with your passion, well, Amazon is probably where you will go. Once you hi

My only gripe is the lack of USB-A to make it truly dongle free.

Amazon is going to rot from the inside by the MBAs they hired to run the company instead of engineers.

iPad has so much potential with M1 now. They can make it a hybrid with iOS and MacOS for example. In fact, I’d be shocked if that’s not what they end up doing with the M2 line of iPad Pros.

I am simply amazed by how much money this company makes. Nice boost to Mac business with the new Macbook Pros selling like hotcakes and OOS constantly.

Wow congrats on making $300K doing nothing! I realized this is very much the culture in Amazon now. Because they’re the top paying tech company it attracts people who work for money and nothing more. That creates…a certain culture.

You don’t need a blockchain for that and blockchain wouldn’t solve that issue regardless.

You know what would be cool? Crypto without the blockchain baggage. Just a straight up virtual currency that’s not tied to central banks.

I am going to say not if you’re running high $$$ boxes. I would not rely on Polygon for anything beyond PA.

I just want to understand the problem: did HackerRank initiate the takedown? If so, that apology and $25K donation is not enough. They need to be sued with the help of NumFOCUS lawyers. My understanding is that they’ve done this many times

Compared to something like GOOGL? I rather own GOOGL and diversified business lines. What FB needs to do is create 3-4 additional businesses preferably with its cloud/infrastructure.

I hate JavaScript and everything about it in 2022. The whole ecosystem stinks and the fact that it’s so pervasive makes me lose hope. I blame the whole thing on Microsoft and the IE team.

The old saying “you don’t get fired for hiring/buying IBM.” Now replace IBM with MSFT. It’s really a reflection of their sales team not products.

SQL skill is nice but wish we stopped with all these “leet” queries. They should really focus on teaching people how to write queries that are performant.

I am going to guess Elon brings back Trump back on Twitter with Thiel’s push. That could be the end of Twitter.

Salmon is not loved in Japan. It’s mostly American sushi restaurants due to more fatty taste and familiarity. It is also largely due to Moonies and the fact that salmon was easy to source in the US.

This notion that open sourcing algo would resolve “speech” issue on social media is laughable. All it will do is reduce the contention down to said algo and how it could be manipulated.

I have a theory that our brain is tied to hand muscles. Handwriting is one way to exercise them. Playing an instrument is another.

There is a reason why the agencies won’t strike down on tech monopolies. And rest assured, they never will.

Stick with mastering Python and focus on working with either Google or AWS. You want to go work where they have a lot of interesting data. Frame your job search around that.

I am a big fan of Netflix but I do think their UI is crap. It’s hard to search for shows. They should have an insanely great recommendation system since they’ve been at it for such a long time. But it’s basically the same system they had in
