So he’s the guy to blame for ruining the hell out of one of Apple’s best software offerings ever. Grr.

Subscription fragmentation is certainly a huge driving force behind piracy. It’s gotten to some crazy levels.

I find this fascinating. Back in the day - (2004-2009) - I absolutely loved using iMovie, and eventually Final Cut Express - with my G4 Mac Mini - the ease of use of the software and speedy FireWire 800 importing made for really fun times m

I am consistently infuriated by HN’s baffling insistence on supporting paywalled articles. I’ve recently had a similar issue with the Toronto Star. Cancelling was a bloody nightmare. Honestly - if you post a news article here to HN, it shou

This is just such a classic story describing the Murphy’s Law of working with computers. This gave me a chuckle. Solving programming problems is sometimes similar.

Just a question - are you a developer of any kind? I’m sure if you are / have been / you’ll obviously understand why this is impractical as all hell; if not impossible, right? When everyone updates to iOS x.x, Apple knows every u

But planes are cheaper. The infrastructure alone for trains is insane. We don’t need rails in the sky. Not only that - but we’re talking about staff for half a day instead of a couple hours. What we could use are electric planes, for shor

I name almost everything with underlines still. I think it’s a programming habit. Although lately I have started saving my Logic Pro files with spaces, simply because I prefer it to be the name of the song as-is.

I lost my phone recently. Let’s just say I’m super glad phone boxes exist. I was able to call it and it was returned.

You know what would piss me off, if I had kids; would be the lack of support the iPad, in particular - has for multi-user logins. It would be huge for families, and it would also make parental controls way more of a breeze. Does anyone know

It’s best if you follow examples for developing for - say - the SEGA Genesis - that’s how I got my start on Assembly. :)

3D had a major problem that it never solved. I continually stated I’d be interested in 3D displays when they developed them using glasses-less technology. I avoid going to 3D films specifically to avoid wearing the glasses. But they never g

Honestly - a lot of the best early games were written in Assembler. C is kinda just one extra layer of abstraction. Even up through the PS1/N64 days there was still a lot of assembly stuff.
