Too hard or not - it's a critical feature. They can lure me with the most advanced APIs and super low fees. If they can't treat international customers (on the consumer side at least) like domestic ones then it's a deal breaker. There are e

Why so much fuss about a blogpost in the guardian? I mean it's a broad public newspaper. Would you, as an experimental physicist, take an article in your local newspaper telling you that linear accelerators are bad serious? Why do we comput

> Is the Mac app store really so small that 15 sales per day gets you into the top 200 overall rankings? Yeah, the volume is not that huge in the MAS. I just didn't know how bad the music category was. I assumed the other categories wou

Thanks for the info but that has nothing to do with what I said :) To clarify: To enter the _MAC_ _MUSIC_ top 5 you need ~15 sales. Not overall. Storming overall with a music app is pretty unlikely.

Interesting what a huge difference the category makes. In the US-music category it's enough to sell ~15 copies/day to enter the top 5.

German engineering != German IT. German engineers are one of the world's best. But german computer scientists/software engineers are mostly just pathetic. I'm working in Germany and it's unbelievable what kind of people do get a CS master h

I honestly don't know what to think about the PP. I want them to be more than a one-hit wonder but they seem to not have much of a political agenda other than "legalize warez" and "don't censor the net". I hope their success stirs up the ot

Oh, the win8 app store looks really great. 0% cut, transparent review process and support for trials. I guess I will be writing some windows app in the future. (I'm a Mac developer.) And I hope this will force Apple to improve their app sto

I thought the same. But who am I to judge them for their choices. If they can live with it (maybe even they have really fun working on their coupon aggregator) then why not. Now I'm not sure about the sustainability of that business model.

Nothing against your method (it's what I did) but with a family things might look different. I'm perfectly fine living from pizza and internet for 2 years. But if I had a wife (+ kid) I guess I wouldn't be too comfortable with that lifestyl

In a world of tele commuting it's pretty backward to base salaries on locations. If someone is great pay him what he is worth to you and not what he would get if he decided to go and work at the local cubicle farm. I'm hoping for a future w

Indie games itself are a lottery. Either you get on HIB, Steam, Xbox Arcade, get featured by Apple or you die silently. Gaming is a market where you as an indie have to hit the jackpot or you have to somehow face your competition, which are
