I had a dumb labrador that was hard to train. Now I have a kokoni who knows 20 commands & words, and she is super easy to train. We haven't tried to test the limit of her abilities, we just ran out of things to teach her (that w

Your argument is similar to the classic hand vs. power tools argument in crafting, which eventually boils down to "did you mine the ore and forge the tools yourself?" Nowadays the argument is about CNC vs. hand crafting. This is

My domains are not my handle, and even so, I can't buy a domain with the handle I'd prefer (it's taken). My point was subtle, that this shouldn't be an issue. It has been solved in various ways.

Well, it is file IO, plus processing on top. But it's not that simple, since if your data is small enough it can all be loaded into memory, allowing you to sidestep any file IO. But you still have the processing part...

My saying has always been: be nice to the DB Don't use it anymore than you have to for your application. Other than network IO it's the slowest part of your stack.

That doesn't solve anything. So what if those particular people don't make as much? Something that benefits everyone equally, while also allowing capitalistic endeavors to continue, is more reasonable. Like a living wage.

I interviewed at Signal for a senior developer. They do not pay well. I didn't even get past the phone interview because they were nowhere near my range. No idea where the $380k comes from, executives maybe?

Toyota is so weird about their EV stance. What I particularly like about EVs is their low maintenance. You remove many components that are required with ICE. Regenerative braking makes your brake pads last a crazy amount longer. And now

Every other keyboard you may need to use; for family, work, friends, is QWERTY. That is enough reason for me to stick with the norm. I already type 120wpm, which is only useful for a speed typing test. I never code, or even write documen

Anti-trust also encompasses anti-competitive behavior, such as limiting consumer choice and stifling competition. It's a bit grey since Apple's marketplace is pretty unique. We need actual litigation to bring out clear answers.
