I’m not an expert in anything, just wild guesses projecting some of my biases: 1- significant portion of mass market retail becomes automated. Labor is getting too expensive and entitled. Everyone needs to hire no one wants to work and busi

Auto companies cutting spending is just spite from competition which is understandable. What’s comical is the gall of General Mills, who has spent decades getting kids (myself included) addicted to sugar with manipulative advertising. It’s

To add to this, the lack of commitment is reciprocal. Employees can walk out the door any second... Stripe pulled these hundreds of employees from somewhere (I doubt they were all college grads). It's just business on both sides.

I believe hyperscaling is a factor here. I don't see how a company can successfully multiply their head count and integrate thousands of employees a year (unless you're already at massive scale like Amazon). When it falters, you&#

I need to read into this more… My understanding is that this was a take private so all stock was acquired already (ie vested options get paid and unvested get terminated at Close). This is exactly what would happen if you acquired our compa

This would be my preferred approach as an employee… get in, move quickly, then announce layoffs are done. From the beginning his investment thesis was that the headcount is extremely bloated (and from my perspective it’s hard to disagree),
