Keep in mind that a fairly significant section of the community (anything sex-positive, adult-adjacent, or associated with either) got swept out along with the porn, and a larger portion followed them ("community" bites both ways,

Yes (for both Chrome and Firefox), and it massively improves browsing experience, IMO. At least for Chrome you can even do site-specific exclusions.

The article lists "...according to local police, about 95 percent of petty crimes on Jeju are committed by Chinese", but that is less than useful without statistics on tourist demographics. It would be interesting to see a more co

The sad answer is that the great majority of voters are ignorant and/or apathetic about privacy - at least in comparison to things like taxes and health care. The population that is willing to vote against party lines for privacy is tr

Man, I'd forgotten how much the artstyle of Wasted Talent changed from the first few comics. I hope stuff's been going well for Jam since she ended the comic.

As evv brought up [1], it's rather concerning that the cornerstone of the JS ecosystem is a for-profit organization (especially one lacking in a source of aforementioned profit). I wonder if their bankruptcy might not be the worst thin

Especially since we don't have any practical experience digging tunnels in mars gravity - or even know exactly how it impacts geology. Would be a shame to lug a bunch of (extremely heavy) equipment out there and have the tunnels turn o

Also it's a lot easier to send people there one-way than it is to bring them back, and there'd likely be issues with atrophy if we were able to do so. There's really no reason to design for two-way trips for now, especially c

I imagine sensible website operators would limit signups to below the threshold, so they don't run the risk of legislation unexpectedly applying. Otherwise it also becomes an avenue for malicious actors.

IMO Minecraft is the big example of this nowadays - servers are self-hosted with their own rules and communities, and the nature of the game highly encourages social interaction. I've certainly played on servers that are closer to chat

MMO games still allow for this as you (generally) select one larger, persistent server at character creation, and remain on that server.
