I REALLY wish this was a setting I could set once on my computer and ALL games respected it. I prefer inverted X and Y but there’s SO many games out there that just don’t provide this as a setting. I’ve tried playing with non-inverted but I

Cynically, it doesn't matter if AI actually replaces jobs, but as long as the stock market BELIEVES that it does, then it gives companies permission to do layoffs without taking a hit to the stock price.

There isn't any real objective way to measure performance though - there are things you can quantify (lines of code written, code reviews performed, etc) but those don't encompass the entire job, and once it becomes clear the metr

That's the trajectory of most businesses. A startup innovates, grows big, doubles down on what makes them profitable, and milks that as long as it can. It's very, very rare that a company will ever have multiple breakthrough hits,

The lament of collecting something of great personal value, which is of value to no one else, reminds me of my photo collection: over 100,000 photos taken over decades, which I absolutely cherish, that are completely worthless to anyone but

The name of this blog, "Random thoughts", is quite apt. There didn't seem to be a point to this article, it's just a collection of random rants.
