So normally I read 30 to 40 % of municipal waste is organic. There is a lot of interesting work being done in accelerating that conversion to proteins and fats via insets. Shouldn’t we couple incinerator strategies with something like this?

It’s a great project but they could be more clear about that 20% cut they take and why it’s double what they partners take. How does it scale? 20% makes sense when you are dealing with, say, 100m of donations, but not so great when it’s 1B.

It amuses me IT management is ok to pay millions in terrible software license fees (i.e. most of Oracle products), but not ok to budget a couple of millions to have a team develop some of that internally. Also another amusing fact is that m

well, companies do it all the time when they buy “enterprise” packages. I believe SAP is closed source and it’s the life and blood of most companies’ IT infrastructure.

Will you have a server too? Another issue is scheduling, triggers, etc.. You are in this strange space between Excel and “enterprise” ETL like Talend. We are so frustrated with the current poor state of data prep that we went to Python base

This looks good. One of your competitors charges about $4,000 per seat per year so this seems to be a good space. If you add the possibility of building user defined nodes with Python you’d have a solid product.

Hey, at work we have been forced to use Denodo. How does this compare to Denodo? Seems a lot better and doesn’t try to do any “data virtualization”. I am a bit scared by the query optimizer because the Denodo one is super buggy. Overall I t

Very random question. It’s the first I come across a concatenative programming language. Is SQL also concatenative in a way? I am thinking what you can do by chaining subqueries together for instance using “WITH”.

Do you have any links? Because as far as I can see we can easily grow larvae from biomass (including food scraps) and we can feed larvae to fish. I guess throw some genetic engineering in there and it should work. What am I missing?

I am hiring one in Krakow! Seriously though, in a team of 10 business analysts I can barely afford 1 data engineer. Business analysts tend to cost less and also be more "business focuses", so they are an easier sell to management.
