Just my 2 cents of managing a an analytics team that works daily with Tableau and Alteryx: 1) Alteryx is super expensive and can be replaced with Jupyter Lab and Python, those that do Alteryx well can also do basic data prep in python; 2) f

Correct, I am definitely going to replace Alteryx with Jupyter / Python and maybe with vega we could replace Tableau at one point too.

This is not an easy topic to discuss here. What I can say is: 1) I have a good mix now and I like it but new hires are only males so it will change, this mix seems to work very well but I might be wrong here; 2) companies these days see it

Honest question, how does it work if you are trying to have a good balance man/women in your team? Especially in IT trying to keep a good mix and avoid man only teams? Is this kind of advise even “safe” to ask these days?

They are end to end analytics and do also the data processing etl with a simple ui. I’d say at least on paper metatron is a much more complete product.

How is that tableau.com? Tableau only does visualization and a very small subset of it, business analytics is a lot more than visually appealing dashboards

So I do BI/analytics at a big company with a team of 6 people, here is my take. We need something like this aimed at business analysts with little to no coding experience and we need it to be priced in the $100-300 per year, not more.

Me and my team are big tableau users, so now that we are testing Python vega and altair are the natural approach. I am having my struggles to make altair work on jupyterlab (while ipyvega works so I could start playing), but I think it’s wo

Well the reality is that this setup is even more expensive than internal talent! I have hired and manage a team of 5 people for data analytics work. Our IT keeps pushing us to user offshore resources at hourly rates instead (Capgemini, sam

Is it still very desktop centric as all MS Office products? Because if it is you will struggle to keep up with the amount of data, report and automation that need to run on top of various cloud applications.

That is actually an enterprise feature that gets very little recognition. There are many challenges with keeping it all in sync, especially if you have multiple contributors. But may I ask more specifics on your case? For me and my team is

The video is very worth a watch all the way to the end. I work with Alteryx for data processing because I prefer to hire business analysts vs programmers, but the tool is expensive and a bit clunky in few areas (mostly because it’s desktop

I don’t know, in Germany, Spain, Italy and probably most other EU countries we have rules that forbid various types of hate speech. For instance in Italy you can be charged for spreading “fascist ideas”. Not exactly sure if US has that? Tha

I have put together a (very short) post to build a dashboard using shopify data and pulling ETL with Stich. You could try to implement the stich part in Python and would have a complete solution. Like looking at Stich/Blendo would give

The problem is that most SAP projects are in reality change management projects. Unfortunately, change management doesn't sound sexy and everybody focuses on the software side of things. But any IT project at that scale will require a
