How long until AI is not even writing code but producing machine code? Think about it, all these compilers, tooling, what a waste! I imagine a future where chipset makers will provide a model you can just prompt to "act upon that chips

Sometimes you open a page on HN that you would have never opened from any other website, and that in itself, is enough! I think it's part of the addiction to HN, the dopamine hits of never knowing what you'll find. That being said

I love the attitude, but this particular service in 2026 is a little risky. A whole range of content can be posted that can make you liable that you want it or not... from product keys, to internal documents, ... I'll just say this, I

This is sickening. People that don't realise that companies are made of people are in for a surprise. Once they go public, they forget that, and it shows. A company_is_ the sum of its people, their talents and aligned behind a mission

Thanks, that's an interesting take from all that I've read. If you're happy for me to do the job in 1/10th of the time, be happy with me not being fully across it on a whim.

If you've done some SwiftUI or Flex or WPF or similar, Flutter is pretty easy to pick up. Dart is really easy to pick up, it's a beautiful language imho.

A ton of industry applications are written in flutter. Point of sale systems, automotive interfaces, bespoke industry applications within offices, etc. The install base would be huge, and it's a solid cross-platform option.

This is a well documented issue, TUI vs. windows. Back in the 90s when most SAP systems switched from AS/400 terminals to Windows NT, people reported massive losses in productivity. I've never worked on SAP, my mother did. And bas

As a senior developer, 25+ years, I have been thrown recently into a meeting "hey can you join in for 5 mins". I really don't like these meetings where you're dragged in in the middle of them without any clue. The questi

It absolutely does matter. The enshittification will go unnoticed at first but I'm already finding my favourite frontier models severely nerfed, doing incredibly dumb stuff they weren't in the past. We need open weight models to h

I've had good success with Opencode and Codex straight up in the XCode project folder. It was able to change the XCode project settings etc., no skills.md or agents.md or anything, no problem. It was a fairly new project though.

Yeah this is looking at the 968 with rose tinted glasses. But a lot of the comparison does check out and the Neo is a fine on-ramp for first time macOS users just like the 968.
