In essence, in order to figure out the brain, we would need to figure out how a single neuron actually works. I think that will take us 500 years, give or take a few.

Digital Native, eh? I've been on the Internet since '86, when my dad was at school at Purdue. I had a commodore 64, and 2 1541 drives. One was hacked by me for bootlegging. I did the BBS'es but found them boring when compared

All this started with General Electric and Chakrabarty winning the patent case against the Patent Office over patenting life forms. If it wasn't for SCOTUS going in favor of Chakrabarty, we would not be in this mess.

"Gypsies and Jews are destroying Hungary" to "Jews should be welcome everywhere, but we need to stop Muslim immigrants from destroying our tolerant open society" Family infighting sure does suck, doesn't it?

That's because cults are this weird thing in that someone has "salvation" or knows the secrets of "the universe". People get suckered in and empty their pocketbooks and life into someone/thing they hope is for

That routing detection you're doing for the tractors looks very similar to a 2d GCode. Maybe there's room for new tractors in the industry. How about autonomous tractors? Make them small, cheap, and autonomous. Instead of the farm

And many of our jobs are in automation research and implementation. Our work puts dozens, if not thousands of people out of work. When driverless vehicles are finalized, that work will put millions of people out of a job. Is it a crime? No.

Don't make the argument "unless your time is free" unless you have 0-turn around time->money converter. Which, your argument is that "Time isn't free, so neener neener", which falls flat in its face. I'

The trick to that is make yourself "qualified", if you want to work one. Holes in employment, sketchy details, questionable descriptions. Or you could go the complete opposite route, and blatantly lie on your resume. As long as yo

I agree. The system right now is fucked, and we are at least 20 years out before we see the full ramifications. Instead, I imagine something different for a school. If someone fails a course, one has to retake it. This is silly if one is tr

I would tentatively agree. Fuzzing does appear that it might work, but given the current corpus of what the spy companies have, this is probably a bad avenue of approach. Instead, lets use The Pirate Bay. We can build a scrape of WebMD and

Wrapping a binary blob and then saying <xml binary=start> ~~~~ <xml binary=end> doesn't make something XML. It's still MS proprietaryness wrapped in an open transport.
