I'm not sure that's a direct comparison. Back then sure you could get shareware but mostly the market was paid boxed software. I can't find a direct source but I remember hearing brick-and-mortar retailers would take even mor

This summer I replaced a couple switches with Lutron and they’ve been very solid, in six months there’s been only twice where an automation didn’t set a state correctly and I don’t even know if I can blame Lutron.

You’re totally right, if it’s that minor then you can type in a word or two to describe it like “spacing”.

I have a paid Workspace account and I can’t view my payment information on the non-Workspace accounts site because they can’t “verify it’s me”. This is with 2FA and a passkey, and multiple logged in devices. There’s a lot of idiocy going on

I got a U6 Enterprise the other day, Mac Studio 12 feet away with one partial wall in between tries and stays on 6GHz for awhile but then falls back to 5GHz pretty quickly.

Anyone can set up a blog and write whatever craziness they’d like just like you can with a pen or notebook. But no one is entitled to unlimited reach, and that was the case before personal computers came along. No newspaper has published ev

This is nothing new. Very old examples are the xerox machines that accidentally changed numbers on scanned documents, and speech coding for low bit rate digital audio over radio, phone, and then VoIP.

The entire state of Minnesota has a P25 system (called ARMER[0]) for public safety, and I’ve done the same thing with SDRTrunk. It is fascinating! But you need to filter out a LOT to really follow anything otherwise you'll end up heari

I think that’s dependent on the port, there are some I’ve plugged into with a very satisfying click and it felt very secure. But you’re right the cheap ones are pretty vague.

I use https://ddev.com for almost all of my web project development, which basically automates all of this. Per-project databases, web containers, plugins, etc, and it’s now using Traefik as its router.
