I sort addressed this in my original comment but local police likely do not have access to an AFU vuln, and generally get it after it’s been patched. Then, they go on an unlocking spree. This prevents that

If I’m reading this right: Reboot is not enforced by the SEP, though, only requested. It’s a kernel module, which means if a kernel exploit is found, this could be stopped. However, considering Apple’s excellent track record on these kind o

I don't know where you live, but in the US it's basically understood by the courts that FaceID is not protected, but PIN is. So if your threat model includes the sort of attacker that has a phone exploit or the ability to confisca

That’s the funny thing though… historically, companies that have a technical lead but in a margin sensitive business tend to get crushed by anyone who can reduce those margins.

There are other implementations that do a better job, such as Apple and Google's. They also are less willing to correct eye contact when it's "out of range" so to speak.

Apple does this on the iPhone, by default. When you're looking at someone's face on FaceTime, it modifies the position of your eyes to be looking directly at the camera - so the person on the other end sees you looking at them.
