Rust is your "last language". It's good for writing Python native modules, PostgreSQL native modules, compiling to WASM, all using the same libraries you love and know already. That is a big deal for me.

That is a mistake by Mozilla IMO. They could've done better. But VPN is just a beginning, there are many other opportunities. Like recently-launched containerized JS playground. Or hosted email. Or Nextcloud-like product in general. Ma

They've established their name and reputation, now they need to build on top of that. Like Mozilla and their VPN product, Signal can do a similar thing, keeping the Signal free.

For those who need this I'd recommend Tailscale and their MagicDNS. You'll get access to this device for free from anywhere, with a working DNS generated for you, and only from devices that were allowed to.

It's actually a great idea in some ways to use a phone instead of a Raspberry Pi, since it has a battery in case your electricity goes unstable, you can add LTE as a backup internet, and it has a screen to bootstrap it without an exter

Please read my message again. I'm talking about protests in cities like Berlin, where nobody is repressed.

Please read my message again: I'm talking about anti-war protests *outside* Russia, which are safe and should (in normal societies) produce many more attendees.

It's a common misconception to think it's Putin's war and not Russians'. There are many people who fled Russia in European cities like Berlin. How many anti-war protests conducted by Russians were there?

Not sure if Postgres has it, but last time I was using TimescaleDB I've written my own functions in Rust and it wasn't hard at all. I've heard it became even easier recently with PL/Rust https://news.ycombinat

Man, it's 2023 and Elm is still the best thing to use for one-man SPA apps. Unfortunately, the author is right and it's Elm-or-nothing most of the time, no real coexistence of Elm components with TS/JS ones. That adds to the

I love systemd for everything except its cron replacement, somehow it's a real mess. Yet I desperately want something more modern to play with journald well. Any advice?

I am puzzled why didn’t they lunch their own VPN to the world and instead got a rebranded one and it’s still restricted only to few countries. To me that’s another proof they’re just not great at operating.
