The numbers still don't seem to add up though. For the same price you could get a (much) cheaper/lighter ARM tablet that gets much better battery life and a better desktop. I'm not sure what the point of convergence is here

Aren't games pretty damn portable these days? It seems like most non-firsty party titles are all multi-platform now. I don't know anything about game development but they must be developing with portability in mind.

I don't think the weird zealous paranoia does much to change their minds. If anything it might motivate 'normal people' to steer clear of questioning privacy issues.

Besides, does anyone think Apple can resurrect the watch industry? No but I do think they can make a huge splash in wearable computers. The type you happen to strap on your wrist. I don't think they'll market it as a watch. They

They cause quite a few Internet outages too. We have a lot of change management tickets filed under 'squirrel damage' so at some point I started using it for some of my change management requests. BGP blip? God damn squirrels.

The Google+ push is annoying but expected. Somewhat off topic but I really wish Google would normalize the volume of ads/videos. These days I tend to get super loud ads then often a quiet video so I'm constantly adjusting my audio

For most people the bigger threat is going to come from the wifi networks they connect to at work, school, coffee shops, etc. If I owned a Motorola SmartPhone I would stop using wifi on untrusted & semi-trusted networks immediately.

I doubt the NSA would build such a sophisticated system without layers of security and extensive audit trails to prevent misuse. If not only because misuse of the system would be a disaster for the NSA and potentially be a bigger national s

The NSA does a lot more than just fight terrorism and of course the US invests a huge amount of money in mitigating the impact of other risks like natural disasters. They have to look at all these different threats and divvy up the money a

The smart ones never used such unsecured communications in the first place. I think the OP's point that it may have sent them off the grid with paranoia is valid. The weird thing is many of these folks have semi-normal lives. They mi

Just how many lives has terrorism claimed in the past decade? It's easy to answer that question now. No one knew the answer to that a decade ago. No one knows how many lives terrorism will claim in the next decade. The government doe
