It makes perfect sense when we’re talking about a public company. It would be a completely different conversation if they were private.

I don't see how a blockchain will ever be ready. They don't scale by their nature, have huge security risks (regular people don't want to manage their keys), the unit economics of running on other peoples computers do not pen

Awesome. I’ve been a vegetarian for 25+ years, my 6+ year old car has less than 35k miles, I’ll bet my carbon footprint is lower than nearly every American commenting on this thread. Having said that, merely hoping that people will make sig

That’s meat, it’s the most water intensive. How much do you want to get that she/he eats meat everyday? What about you?

I’ve worked on a large rails code base for 10 years, with hundreds of developers. It hasn’t been any worse than any other language I’ve used. The worst code bases I’ve worked on used statically typed Java.

Thanks for clarifying. I’m hoping that coding in the cloud, GitHub codespaces, becomes a highly productive experience soon. It’s pretty close.

Are you seriously suggesting Pythonista for python development? You can’t even ‘pip install’ with it! This is not a setup for serious development.

What's your definition of a good company? If people could reliably predict which companies are and will remain good then they will be very rich. Most of us can only know in hindsight for the most part. This is why virtually no one pick

I believe it was ~13 years before the nasdaq reached the same level as the peak of the dot com bubble. I also find it odd to use the peak as the primary reference point. It was a brief moment in time. For example, if you had invested in the

Again, they aren’t a good company today if they can’t weather a down turn. They may have been a good company in the past, but they aren’t currently if they can’t make it.

“ In 2-3 years we will be recovering.” I’m not sure exactly what he meant, I read it as “we will be near the bottom in 2-3 years”. Recovering means something different than recovered.

Not really. If you can’t handle a down turn, how are you a good company?

I’ve read your comment at least 5 times and don’t understand what you’re saying. 1) Everything relies on the market, so I’m not sure what alternative you’re suggesting that wouldn’t rely on the market. For example, cash or fixed income pens
