It's absolutely baffling. I've been looking into it for cheeses and ales, so many UK producers flat out say "We only ship within the UK" even though the cost of shipping is covered by the buyer and it would cost nothing,

I see this post attracted 2 kinds of people, those concerned with climate change (and those denying it), and skiers/holidayers. Yeah using snow cannons to keep climate change affected ski resorts open is borderline genius. /s

Oh that is not going to go well with the majority of the population. "You're paying these high taxes and foregoing real meat because otherwise things would've been way worse, trust us!" Very few will believe that.

Man, I was living in the UK. A kid on a skateboard dropped his phone, didn't notice. Less than a minute later, a guy (gardener or construction worker by the looks of it) picks it off the ground and gets in his van. Bye bye phone. Anoth

Tbf, from a seller's point of view, the larger the purchase, the harder a refund should be. In any case, the bigger party (in this case, Tesla as the seller) holds more power.

Payment issues. Sending and receiving money to/from countries deemed high risk is hard. Can't do a normal bank transfer to Venezuela, for example. That applies to Coke, too - "we" can't actually send one to any part

Sadly, it is true. And "price" doesn't only mean money. Maybe a country wants a longer shoreline in exchange for a piece of mountain land or something.

Let's go by the price of land in Denmark. 25,000 Euros per hectare in 2009. That's for agricultural land. Greenland does not support agriculture, but it does have natural resources, and can have a good strategic value. So let'

MikroTik, too, but last time I checked the UI was pretty bad. Good hardware, reliability and features, though.

They should just all adopt OpenWRT (with their custom UI) and invest in it. Like Android for smartphones. All router firmware is terrible in some ways, and has been for decades -_-

I've taken Levodopa, not prescribed, I do not have Parkinson's. Just had access to it and decided to try it as mood enhancement/anti depressant. It did nothing noticeable. At higher dosages for 1 day I felt somewhat dizzy

I believe the mind, or soul, is indeed in the brain. But it's also separate. It's more like software controlling the hardware. Take self control and attention. How many people struggle with it, procrastinating? You want to do some

FPS is actually the one amazing genre in VR... when it works right. Maybe someone will finally revive the First/Third Person RPG/RTS niche (not top down), which I really loved in BattleZone 1/2. I think it will work great in

Jesus, I can barely manage Reddit, Imgur and HN... that stuff looks right out of a nightmare. But it does seem like the most likely human conclusion to schedule/task/todo/interests lists.

Work hard for a living, even though it's minimum wage, knowing it's enough to support a life and family? Wasn't that the case 50 years ago? Too much to ask for today, I guess

Oh I am well aware. Laptop coolers are barely good enough, without exception. It's fascinating really, it's like they want their systems to run at close to throttling temperatures, so they last a tad bit longer than their warranty

I've done it in some MMOs so they can shove their grindfest casinos up their asses. I don't know how it got so bad, MMOs used to be focused on group content, socialization, meaningful progression. Nowadays it's solo grinding

For some reason, I do not expect Dell or HP or anyone big to release a decent, high quality workstation with AMD inside. HP has consumer laptops with Ryzen, and they're the cheapest sheet possible, as expected. I believe Dell does the
