That’s correct, waiting for a push + acknowledgement would be too long which is why it just automatically does it. I did the push so I’d be able to track unexpected usage and there wasn’t a single one the entire time.

I literally do the same thing, except "press 1 if you are a human". I haven't had any robocalls get through. I don't have a direct cell number as I just use a cheap data-only iPad plan with my iPhone only, combined with

Hi Dave, I just found out about your tool from this post and it looks amazing! I was about to download it to try it out but I'm now hesitant to try (and possibly later purchase) if it's being rewritten in Rust + Electron rather th

Very good point. I do get frustrated when watching Korean media with my wife and needing Korean subs for myself and English for her. I notice that the subs frequently mistranslate, or convert to a Western equivalent, which drops the nuance.

I don't know why I didn't think of this before... thanks! I will definitely try that out, especially since at such a young age she won't be able to sit through a whole film anyway.

I would be happy to pay the subscription fee for a native app, especially since my partner and parents can use it under the family plan. It works great for that! I've been paying for upgrades since 2007 (version 2.0 I think). Except th

There’s a great quote from Jackie Chan about fight scenes: “I never move my camera. Always steady. Wide angle.” Most action scenes in movies have moving cameras with fast cuts and zoomed in faces. Makes it impossible to actually track what’

I ran a similar calculation for my Spark EV with 14 kWh capacity remaining. I can run my router and two wifi APs for around 15 days (at least) if needed. So I picked up a small inverter and will manually fail over from my UPS if a power out

It’s amazing to me how much more usable those UIs are. Not to mention how much more performant they’d be than modern Electron garbage. But forget about Mac OS 9, we don’t even have native OS X or Windows interfaces anymore. Doesn’t help tha

Thanks for this suggestion. We are not in a Family Sharing group, so I’ll look into whether this helps. I also might just move her AirTag to my account to track her keys, since if she’s misplaced her keys there’s a good chance she’s misplac

Also, the stats for cars show that speed increases cause deaths to go up non-linearly, so your chances of dying in an accident are way more than double at 100 vs 50 km/h. I would assume the same about motorcycles and ebikes, but presum
