Maybe, maybe not. But if you only rely upon the client-side feature of the app and if code signing is employed, you could safely use the app without fear of potentially your private data being stolen (assuming the original code doesn't

Exactly. That's why I'm advocating for a signed JavaScript/HTML/webapp standard of some sort.

Not as far as I know... I could run a server that serves up HTML/JS and if that JS was modified by an attacker who hacked the server, consumers of my HTML/JS wouldn't know regardless of whether it's served up on HTTPS or

Anyone interested in signed JavaScript? Initiatives like this are great. However, I'm most interested in signed JavaScript. I'm surprised that there isn't more of a discussion going about this since JavaScript crypto is near

Nice work. You may want to look into collaborating with these guys: https://github.com/angular-widgets/angular-jqm Basically, they are using the jQuery Mobile CSS (no jQuery though) with Angular.

This is a very common practice if the CLI application depends upon Node.js.

Like another commenter, I was also going to recommend Google's LevelDB. It has bindings for just about every major language and it's my understanding it works really well as a KV store.

While I enjoyed your joke, I'm not sure how the PC market fading can be ascribed to luck? The rise of consumer demand of smart phones coupled with most PC's hitting a point of being "good enough" for the average consumer could be the cause.

Stating this is ego-protection at its finest. One of the finest comments I've ever read regarding this was written here, years ago ( https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=1791800 ): "This attitude bugs me a lot. There is probably a path for

Correct me if I'm wrong, I thought the Galaxy Nexus wasn't on Verizon? I also thought that it didn't support LTE? Is that correct?

So which Android phone do you buy if you want unsubsidized on Verizon/LTE? Sincere question.

To be fair, it's my understanding that EC2 are virtual machines. If they use EC2, they need to be 100% certain that their servers are safe and don't fall victim to the Bitcoinica Linode attack. http://bitcoinmagazine.com/the-bitcoinica-lin

A bit off-topic, but I'm curious as to why you chose to use Redis to Go over firing up a VM yourself and hosting Redis?

That's exactly what I came here to ask. I hated Mailbox, but love Orchestra and use Orchestra daily. I hope they keep it around, but I have an odd feeling that they won't.

To my knowledge, Heroku still does not support Websockets. However, if you use, Socket.IO, then you can use long-polling with Heroku.

Presumably so, since the press release explicitly mentions websockets, and you can use Nginx (which now supports websockets) or choose to not use any reverse proxy.

I was really disappointed with 280 North and their lack of transparency regarding Atlas. I was a beta customer and they kept promising an update on the Motorola situation. Nothing but silence.
