The guy mentions that he’s never been to Tennessee and I believe him. Clearly he’s not aware of how low the population density is if he thinks trains make for sensible transport there.

My experiences have been the same… that is to say nothing like what is reported here. This is more pitch than info. Odd timing, too given flash 2.0 release and its performance on this problem.

We use Claude 3.5 sonnet to OCR and structure tabular data from PDFs and it’s virtually flawless… orders of magnitude better than Textract (or pretty much any other LLM).

Why? Seems like a very expensive way to vaguely clone a game.

The new disclaimer at the beginning of the broadcast was doing some heavy lifting throughout the entire presentation.

An odd choice of language for something with such robustness and scalability requirements. I love ruby, but for this?

Rust and ‘minimal effort’ have to business being in the same room.

It just went out of business for… reasons. There are better tools out there nowadays, apparently. Why emulate a sunken ship?

It’s just been so long since going from ‘head to code’ has been the hard part for me. I’d imagine you have to be very unfamiliar for this to be useful.

You’d have to be really terrible at writing code for anything like this to be ‘easier’.

I couldn’t possibly disagree with every point in this post any more. Rust is bad because.. people update things? What?

Both are a hot mess in practice. I could imagine a scenario where this ‘flexibility’ in not knowing what you’re building ahead of time may be valuable but I’ve never lived one. I’d rather think it through?

This is essentially what I’ve done, having started 15 years ago with Ruby on Rails and now leading development of most ML-related applications at my current job. I’ve been interested in ML since 2017 or so, just found it interesting.
