That’s generally how pricing works for SAAS products - most later stage customers have stricter or more customized needs. Think support SLAs, SSO, ACLs for their employees, etc.

I don’t know the specifics of what you were quoted, but a quarter million dollars (guessing per year?) does strike me as high. Were you a later-stage startup by chance? The price point for pre-Series-C startups should be much, much lower.

Highly recommend Heap [1] - they have a neat approach that doesn’t require you to ‘decide’ which analytics you want to track ahead of time. Disclaimer: I was an early engineer at Heap. [1] https://heap.io/

How do compostable products compare to recyclable ones? How much better/worse are they and how much impact do they have?

Hilariously enough, Carplay is actually standard on Camrys now (even the cheapest base model). What a weird time to buy a car.

Sorry, I didn't realize this. Can a mod change the title to match the article and unflag this?

I'm always impressed by the products that come out of the 0x team. One of the few legitimate projects in the space staffed by top-tier talent. This is awesome dev tooling, didn't expect anything less after seeing the launch of I

I’ve yet to see a company with no managers work out. Usually it signals lack of bandwidth to set up management, low perceived value, or pessimistically a cost-cutting measure to double up on responsibilities.

So they have better salespeople that will never negotiate? Seems like a win for them.

> I've never seen a start-up fail on account of technical debt. That's because noone ever says "XYZ startup failed because their code quality wasn't good enough." It's usually something closer to "Thei

This feels uncharitable. Pinyin is a lot easier to learn coming from a western background. It's also used by many people as the primary input method for typing, and it's reasonable that the parent poster might not have a curren

I bought an iPad Pro (12.9") in mid 2017, and am already seeing significant slowdown. With 4-5 apps open, it lags when trying to scroll the home screen. I frequently need to kill open apps by going into the app switcher. When I bough

Do you mean desktop Gmail enables certain images, even if you disable images by default? That's news to me, can you give examples of some sites for whose emails this is true?
21.
by jiaweihli 8y ago
No, disabling images breaks pixel tracking. One way to quickly sanity check a mail client's priorities is whether it gives you the option to disable images by default. Some clients that don't allow you to disable by default: Poly

If you live in the Apple ecosystem, I highly recommend mweb[1]. It ticks all the boxes I've been looking for: - intuitive UI: lets me see 1) raw markdown syntax or 2) formatted preview... no weird in-betweens - sync to/from

Hey, I'm a fellow non-college-grad with a ~1.7 GPA who's worked at 2 of FANG and got an offer from a third. The best actionable advice I can give you is: put Caltech on your resume with your years of attendance, leave off your GPA

I understood 'both layers' to mean both the abstraction layer, and the underlying layer being abstracted. Actually, you might even understand it as 'all 3 layers' here - iOS, Android, React Native.
