Well, if it comes to that. German is not _really_ a single language. It’s a dialect continuum consisting of sometimes barely mutually intelligible variants. And yes, if you continue following that continuum, you get to the languages you men

Curious, what are the practical concerns? The place looks fantastic to me! I really miss more bold architectural and city planning experiments. Like, I get it, if it’s a flop, it’s a pretty expensive one. But still, it feels like the design

That’s because WeChat has really taken off in China. So there are companies in different markets trying to replicate that. And, well, from business perspective it does make sense. If you manage to pull it off, the reward is massive.

That’s mental. Why have a resume in the first place then? Any info in the resume introduces “bias”. Well, actually, even wanting to hire the best candidate for a job is already a bias of its own. So why not just have a lottery instead of a

It’s not like the “candidate” is doing that on their own. They’re most likely part of some branch of the military with a chain of command, a bunch of reports to fill, etc. So doing that in a pre-approved way is not unimaginable. Because, if

I don’t think that’s going to work for long. A typical defender/attacker dynamic at play.

No, that’s not the higher level story here. The higher level story is that the US is currently led by irresponsible imbeciles.

The unemployment rate is near historic lows. Apparently there’s plenty of jobs going round. Not that that’s going to last if actual economic headwinds hit the economy.

This is very different from “lay-diagnosing” every introvert kid as autistic and every jittery kid as having ADHD. There’s _a lot_ of reliable material from his direct actions over the years to accounts from people who’ve worked or dealed o

That’s why I said “to a lesser extent”. It’s _possible_ to survive as a high level EU country politician without being fluent in a second language, but it’s definitely suboptimal. So it still serves as a forcing function.

I don’t feel like there will be one worth talking about though if the current direction persists. If you don’t care about things like freedom, democracy, free press, the rule of law, free markets, then China seems like a much better overlor

I have a pet theory on why that is. In EU to become a Brussels career bureaucrat you need to be able to speak a couple of languages fluently. This serves as a kind of a filter. Whatever they are, dumb they most certainly are not. To a lesse

Just try it then. I upvoted it because it aligns with my own findings working on real projects. Especially the bits about needing to “ground” the LLM in appropriate context, and being mindful of the sliding context window.

I feel like this is the big question now. How to find the correct balance that lets you preserve and improve your skills. I haven’t yet found the answer, but I feel like it should be in being very deliberate about what you let the agent do,

Sure, but what choice do you have as an individual? Try and adjust to the new reality and maybe get RIFed anyway, or not adjust to it and get RIFed with 90% certainty. Power looms won.
