- 8note 2y agolabour participation rate is the number you want to be looking at - unemployment excludes people who have given up looking anectdotally, you dont see people dropping out of universities en masse because businesses are desperate for workers and willing to make it worth students while to put off or skip the education. you see that in and out in tech/software dev, but not across industries
