I was a part-time, paid firefighter in Woodinville, WA for seven years. That was about twenty-five years ago now. I worked twelve hour overnight shifts about ten times a month, supplementing the full-time crews (24 hour shifts.) I was a sig

I think the title would be more accurately written as "Apple requires staff to return to office..." rather than "Apple asks staff to return to office...." The latter seems subtly disingenuous to me. Yes, they are asking,

Maybe check with otool on macOS and check to see where it is looking for the .dylib it can’t find. You can also update the executable with otool to use a different path to the dylib, if need be.

I enjoyed building a Heathkit IM-18 VTVM as a teenager. It was a great experience and I used the meter for a few decades.

Drug addicted individuals are not garbage. They are human beings. I see them as worthy of compassion and a sincere helping hand, however it can be given.

I second this whole-heartedly. I grew up in the hollow-state era when solid-state discrete devices were relatively new. Mr. Carlson’s Lab is a great show. Paul really knows his stuff.

Do you think questions like that can ever be answered? There's a YouTube video I like, called "The Chinese Farmer," by Alan Watts. The gist of the video is that reality is so unimaginably complex that we cannot know if a give

The biggest by far IMO is its ability to power high voltage high draw tools at the jobsite. I have a TIG welder and a solid state linear amplifier that I'd love to be able to power from my truck instead of from a generator.

Same. 2012 Tundra, 140K miles now, bought it new. Great truck. Went to surf toyota.com today thinking maybe it's time to get another one, almost exactly the same.

No one. Your personal information and email routed through Paced Email via Mailgun are not sold, read, or shared with third-parties. I'm not in the business of selling your data. I appreciated the clarity of this. Thank you.

Your service looks interesting. Can I trust that you’re not reading my email and selling or otherwise trading on information gleaned from it? I read your privacy policy. I didn’t see anything that explicitly ruled out my concern.

Exactly. I well remember the green or amber 24x80 terminals. Televideo, Lear-Siegler, etc. Bundles of twisted pair cable for tty lines back to the machine room. Good times....

Edit code like a grandpa in neovim... Love it! At 61 I am a grandpa, prefer GNU Emacs over vi, but still have fond memories of using vi on 4.2BSD systems. Long time ago!

I'm 61. I question whether it's greater control of my feelings, as against, more recognition that feelings come and go and don't require that we act on them. The study and practice of non-dualism and other ancient Indian regi

I enjoyed the XKCD. Thanks for that. I'm currently interested in Cynefin and complexity theory in organizations, so it's kind of right up my alley. Here's the Dilbert I was thinking of: https://dilbert.com/str

This is spot on. I have been a student of Eli’s work since about 1995. He was an amazing individual. An important point not always noticed is that restricting WIP improves both flow and quality in organizations. I see flow and quality as “m
