Which reservoir sites could be built that aren't? Most of the good sites for building reservoirs in California are already taken. You could dam the Smith River, but that isn't going to be popular. Same thing goes for the Los Angel

The first computer I built myself was a 386 SX/33 with 4 megs of RAM and VGA (I think). I couldn't afford a hard drive at first because I was a kid, so all i had was a 3.5 inch floppy drive. Had to buy a hard drive later, and if I

Apple has its own app class curriculum available, but this Stanford class predates it by quite a few years. If you want to learn about mobile application development, you have to pick a specific platform to target, and anything other than m

This is topical - I'm currently working on an uplift/erosion simulation with Unity/C#. I'll be curious to try this algorithm out. I'm using the Microsplat asset to set the terrain splats based on steepness and altit

I agree with the network comment in this thread. Also give yourself some authority, by authoring a book, and/or speaking at relevant conferences. The 10K could be used to hire a ghost writer, or for travel to said conferences.

Those are some nice tips! If anyone here is looking to start running as part of a New Year goal, I'd suggest not getting too discouraged with all of the stuff that seems complicated about running. It takes a while to get your body used

I haven't got any idea if that degree will lead to a worthwhile career for your nephew, but that looks like a lot more fun than the four years I spent getting an engineering degree I don't use :)

Not to jump on the original point of this article, but I would suggest creating a personal blog, professional LinkedIn profile, and a technical focused Twitter account. The reason you can't make a deal outside Upwork is that all of you

It sounds like their preferred method of financing city government (being a speed trap on I-35) goes back at least 50 years - here's an interesting article from 1974 about Selma, TX, which is on the other side of San Antonio, but also

I tend to use Rails for new projects, and the devise gem is pretty straightforward for auth, so that part is covered. On Node.js projects, using passport isn't quite as easy, so that is a bit of a pain point. My biggest stumbling point

Sure - I'm more concerned about inadvertent leakage of email addresses or passwords than passing along an identifier to the API as part of the implementation, especially if it's capturing network traffic.

I try and run 5-6 days a week, mostly in the 3-4 mile range, but one longer run on the weekends. I mix it up with the routes, so it's not the same run every day. I also find that running in the evening is better for my concentration on

I've got a Macbook 12 (2017), and it's surprisingly fast - I think it's definitely viable for iOS app development, as long as you have it hooked up to an external screen. I find that Xcode is a little cramped on the notebook

Very interesting read about Trilogy, as someone who worked at Trilogy/pcOrder as their first job out of college. They were recently advertising for 300k/year architects, I didn’t know the current business model was based around a

This article is an excerpt from the book, which I thought was a great read - very well paced. There's more money in corporate relocations and military moves than I would have expected. My big takeaway from it wasn't anything to do

Point of reference here - I plugged in an old 2008 Macbook Pro with no battery (it had expanded, so I took it back to Apple for recycling), and it booted up fine from a Magsafe 1 charger. So I don't know if that's the case.
