Some interesting design decisions going on here! If I type in "cats with hats" at https://huehive.co/tools/domain_search and get redirected to https://huehive.co/tools/domain_search/

Ended up finding a Mermaid Diagram(?) generator on the same site (with the same incrementing id vulnerability). I typed in "A LLM" as prompt and got a great response: https://huehive.co/tools/diagrams/563

I read Elixir in Action which was a great intro, but it was Concurrent Data Processing in Elixir [1] that really made the penny drop for me. I have only finished one Elixir app. It was a lot fun and the app has proven rock solid. For me it

My pick right now is "Feeling good is better than that “third” slice of pizza." I have only fairly recently worked out that how food makes you feel is at least as important as how it tastes.

If you want to build something for fun, then someone (you) wants it, so I am not seeking to kill your joy. It's all good.

Some significant names from that world on the fly.io roster :) Like a lot of people I feel like Elixir / BEAM has a real value proposition that is unrealised in the wider IT landscape ... but maybe that's not such a bad thing from

I don't know if I would hire like this, but I do think a lot about the current hiring landscape is pretty broken, so maybe I should! I expect an employer needs a certain amount of cachet before being able to do this or anything else si

Having a play with datadm. It's really good and intuitive to use - good job! I'm getting errors now, but was having a lot of fun before.

I'll do one of each. Essential software tools: i3wm (a tiling window manager for Linux). So much nicer to use than draggy droppy window managers, and so lightweight. Impactful books: The Fabric of the Cosmos (Brian Greene). Reading thi

I wouldn't normally bother pointing out a small typo, but it seems important here, given the context. "cobalt" is spelt "Colablt" just before the first JSON representation of a trie. Enjoyed the article! Oh actually

I made a 6 Music 'now playing' app ( https://radio-tracker.geoffclayton.com/ ) so I could easily keep track of things I liked. I kept hearing things then forgetting... I never _quite_ finished it, so never really ad

I am like this also. It's tricky though because I think people hear 'quality' in different ways. Some people focus on lyrics, some like cultural identity, some people are probably responding at a more 'primal' level

I think different things work for different people. But me; I agree with you. I have been around a lot for my kids and the idea of that not having been the case makes me feel hollow and weird.

You make a good point. There have been times an HR handbook / department would have been useful. At the end of the day it's a choice I guess, which kind of org you work in. HR departments can also be a bad presence, depending on w

I don't think all of this applies in a small outfit. Some of it, sure... Politics is less of an issue in smaller companies. Disconnecting is perhaps actually harder in small companies, idk. Incompetent people can't easily find a p

I am on this road too, with two children between 5 and 10. My conclusion is pretty much that if I don't want them to do those kinds of activities (social media, youtube, games, endless TV) then I have to put my money where my mouth is

I run Manjaro Linux with i3wm on a T14s gen3. I connect to two 2560x1440 external monitors via thunderbolt 3 dock. I wish I could say it is 100% stable. It's close, and close enough for me to rely on it. Occasionally when I plug in to
