The best things to look at are the gold difference (below the top bar) and the towers remaining (on either side of the top bar). But neither fully captures who's winning. Dota is remarkable for how possible comebacks are, so it's

Sure seems like it would. A big part of DOTA balance these days is Icefrog (DOTA's BDFL) talking to pro players and about the meta-game and observing pro play to figure out what should change. Having pro-level AIs that you could just s

I'm also very excited about what these bots can tell us about DOTA but I think a certain degree of skepticism is necessary due to the bots not actually having been trained truly tabula rasa. The training contained lots of little "

C programs tend to call nil-pointer panics "segfaults" even though go runtime doesn't print the word "segfault" anywhere. I'm guilty of the same thing.

I have no problem imagining absentmindedness of this sort. It's the deafness to the people around him that I find astonishing. Throughout the story anytime Aaronson was presented with a social interaction that would have allowed him to

I think the amount stolen here probably precludes prosecution in most jurisdictions. But I have trouble believing that if it was a larger amount he'd be able to just say: "I was mistaken, I thought their money was my money."

Yes... stealing money is a crime in the US. You're allowed to take from tip jars in England? That doesn't sound right to me. But I don't know much about English law.

I'm not sure why this author thinks this is because of the way tech is covered and not just the way business in general, and particularly tech businesses work. Seems a very self centered view of the world.
