It really depends. IEnumerable could have a lambda that leaks the world and makes a web call on every iteration for all the caller knows. You know iterating a List will be fairly banal. So from an API perspective, I think returning IEnume

There are a lot of patterns you get when you can be 100% certain of something. For certain functional languages, you could actually safely assume immutable patterns and such. I really love C# but I will also say that 100% purity is a super

Possibly unintentional but the pun works even better if you remember WAR files. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/WAR_(file_format)

This is like saying a Gameboy and a Playstation are completely unrelated. Sure they have their niche but there is massive overlap as well.

The XReal and Magic leap glasses have some of those things. Hololens had it before that. There's not a dream device yet but its clearly the north star for those and the Meta devices.

They're basically things along those lines. They're more nefarious when background services quietly error out and you need to dig to find it was a newly required permission.

Interesting. The last I looked into it, you could only officially do this on Mac hardware (defeating the purpose). You can get an xcode building for arm Macs on PC hardware with this?

Ideally, it's a continuous part of development because you're making daily (or more) builds and testing them. That makes it a continuous headache to keep your Mac builders up. It means you need to double dev hardware costs or more

If you're an indie with just PC hardware it sure as hell matters.

Why don't you look through the Unreal and Unity docs and see if you can make a build without a Mac and xcode.

Mac dev sucks. You're forced to use macos and xcode (for the final build anyway). You're not able to virtualize the build machines. Apple is actively hostile to how you would build for Linux or PC or console.

There are surprisingly a lot of permission headaches and rug pulls in the last few big OS updates that have been really annoying.

IMO focal depth is very much a nice to have and not a big issue at all.

Can you be specific? You think they can't cram in enough cameras and a lidar? The see through display is the elephant in the room and it's actually progressing.

I honestly couldn't get used to the weight. 9-5, a nice big monitor won out every time. There's something to this AR XR stuff but even with infinite resources the convenience just isn't there for all day use for me.

So what? Compatibility means a big install? The kernel is too stripped down to patch? In what way could "it needs libraries" be a real blocker?

You misunderstand. They are explicitly referring to the survivors that have been iterated on and chosen for being good. They're NOT saying all software in the past was better.

It feels like the only other big near term tech bet is Meta and their glasses. It would be pretty fun to see AI fizzle and AR glasses take off. Not a huge zuck/Meta fan but I really do appreciate the actual big bet on something else.

It's really not a splat vs triangle thing. You're basically comparing points cloud data to triangles. Likely triangles are used to render the image in a traditional pipeline.

Yeah no animation is a pretty big blocker. The tech can handle video clips tho. I wonder if it's possible to do some kind of blendshape style animation, where you blend between multiple recorded poses.

I suppose you could actually solve it by having a promise that catches the exception like your suggesting with an either result. The C# Task API can do this. It has it's own headaches where now the developer has to pay attention to o
