I don't fully agree with this. (I am an inhouse recruiter). When salary is discussed before an actual offer, it's to make sure the candidate and the company are in the same ballpark. I never ask for a precise number, and im happy

While listening, ask follow up questions. That is really the easiest way to make social interactions smooth, get to know people better and make them appreciate you.

The attractiveness of big cities is more than just proximity of workplaces. Even if a lot of work goes remote, enough people love to live close to bars/theater/friends/etc. I do see commuter towns getting way less popular if

During walks, bike trips, etc. Outside, mild intensity, that's perfect for thinking. Particularly intersting reads take me a long time because I research what I read, I would say that's part of thinking too. (Which for me means; i

That's just how popular music and pop culture works. Internet and streaming did enable long-tail though. Its way easier to listen to and find those underground rappers compared to 20 years ago.

This has been a entertaining conversation to read, I also didn't get the sarcasm immediately, it's quite close to what actually might be happening.

It's indeed not illegal to do so. I'm just trying to explain why most job boards/ platforms don't register/work with age. Why there are a lot of initiatives around woman in tech and not oldies in tech? I'm afra

This is a very difficult topic. Since discriminating on age is illegal in most countries, there aren't (much) sites/platforms where age is an actual explicit factor. Generally speaking, startups/scaleups are more inclined to

Just be honest and respectful. Preferably over the phone/audio/video rather than an email. Also, be clear and to the point, so they know you're not just trying to get more money out of them. (If it's just about the money

I don't feel there's more risk with grads. Because they typically don't work on the riskiest projects anyway from the start anyway. Typically, companies that are more or less stable in their hiring needs, tend to be more open

The Dutch prime minister just made a statement on this, and he's using your argument 1. He's afraid it will decrease social distancing and make people with mild symptoms go outside, because they think they are protected.

There's a huge difference between everyone working remotely, and some. If a big chunks of your direct colleagues are in the office, the remote people will miss out on information, which will draw them to the office.

Small typo; you probably worked at your last company until March 2020, not 2019? (Or; did your employer foresee COVID and fired you a year before it happened?)
