I've taken the Coast Starlight trip 2 times and would do it again in a heartbeat (had a sleeper room both times) - there's some awesome scenery in southern Oregon and through northern California as it travels along the coast: htt

Just because someone has a 15Mbps connection doesn't mean Netflix will eat it all up - Netflix will use the minimum bandwidth needed to stream the quality of video being watched. Sounds like it is working great in this case.

You should be able to go into Settings -> iTunes Store -> Video Resolution and set it to SD - then your purchases are in SD but you can still view in 1080p (at least I believe so).

But does Bitcoin really have a floor related to the energy put into the mining? Since the energy cost is paid for by the miners, do other players in Bitcoin "respect" that floor? I don't see that - there's nothing keep

I see big time indirect revenue - with all of a sites actions/users moving through Google, they can gather way more (potentially private) information about a user - all the better to sell targeted ads on. Call me cynical, but that was

Of course - that's the whole reason for the mandate. Similar to social security, there needs to be a pool of people paying into the system that are not using it. I don't agree with you that the plans will be worse though - mayb

Just want to add another data point, that here in Washington State, a comprehensive plan for my family is going to be around $600 less per month under Obamacare than what I can get right now. This is without any subsidies of any kind, so w

The Internet is integral to tablets and mobiles, so not sure how it is being cannibalized. I see "computing" moving into areas such as packaging - i.e. walk down the cereal isle in your store and boxes call out to you as you walk

My experience with DynamoDB has been the same - very fast access. However I'd recommend checking out ElastiCache - stick that in front of DynamoDB and cache all you can - accessing ElastiCache is much cheaper than accessing DynamoDB.

Speaking from years of experience with a self hosted PHP application, I'd recommend a "recommend hosters" section in your FAQ. Setup an affiliate program with them - most of your users will be happy to send you the referral to know that yo

As someone who has sold self hosted software for almost 10 years, there is a whole different level of "hand holding" expected when a customer spends $395 versus $49. We are in the process of re-doing all our pricing with our new release sp

When has Apple ever "competed on price"? As far as I can tell, low cost competition has not been a problem for Apple.

If you have an iCloud email address, it is "push" - i.e. as soon as the email comes in to your inbox it is in the mail app.
