What makes you so skeptical? I don’t think it’s off-message at all for this admin to order such a thing.

Do you have a source for this? I'd love to know what node they're using. I'm guessing no better than 12nm, but who knows?

Other commenters in this thread have mentioned netbooting their Pis to avoid that exact issue. A typical USB flash device won't be any more reliable than an SD card, though it might be better cooled.

Bring it on. If Arm is the future of desktop computing, it'll need a competitor.

It’s still pretty cool that these cards have enough oomph to get close enough to real-time for DLSS to work.

Brilliant to see where some land masses stay relatively intact and how little they've changed. Newfoundland and Labrador in today's Eastern Canada stand out to me. I really want to those weathered ancient mountains some day.

I mean sure, I don't look back too fondly on the days of $0.99/mo 128MB OpenVZ plans, which is where I feel this distaste comes from. Digital Ocean, Vultr, and Linode have been way more solid for me and they keep each other honest

I'm pretty excited to see what they'll offer in the 10- to 16-core range for Zen 3 and if they'll hit the magical 5GHz mark. Anyone else remember the promised 10GHz of the NetBurst? It's nice to see the industry slowly c

I mean, it's still running WebKit (most likely through a WKWebView) at some point to render any HTML mail. There truly is no escape.

Well that was a silly bet. Of course we were bound to find something in between a just formed black hole and a supermassive black hole.

I don't get this argument at all. Here's an example hierarchy of shitty to good questions to drop in IRC: > I have a question > I have a programming question > I have a Go question > I have a question about interfaces

The sad part about what you said is that there is definitely fibre in your area. After all, there’s a 5G tower within spitting distance.

As someone who slept under one that would start flashing just before the sound started, oh yes, the light alone can wake you up. It's like a flash of lightning, or at least a really bright camera flash.

Wow, such convenient timing. I just gave up fiddling with the CLI interface on Linux in favour of 1Password X, which otherwise works great. Shoutout to @cohix, I'm sure you had something to do with it!

Fusion Pro doesn’t have to be expensive either. It’s easy to find $5 gray market keys on eBay.

AMD and TSMC have really excellent relationship. Nvidia on the other hand does not, since it's rumoured most of their next gen GPUs are going to be made on Samsung 8nm because TSMC bid high against Nvidia and wouldn't budge. Apple

And Nuvia, Qualcomm, Huawei and whoever else decides to get TSMC to make some killer Arm-based SoCs. Seems like the playing field is about to get a lot bigger.

I’m not an Intel employee or contractor, I’m only going off what I’ve heard from about contractors being treated poorly on campus as you described. More crucially, the red tape around information access severely limits contractor’s abilitie

I don’t know if this is right. The money seems to be in customized Arm-based chips for now and I think for quite a while still. Apple and Nuvia might take Arm to crazy new levels with their customizations but all their chips will still be A

It sort of bothers me how much feature creep CSS itself has undergone. Was it not enough to leave things simpler and just use pre-processors and JavaScript? What hope does one have to implement the entire CSS spec from scratch now?
