This is only half true. Uber in particular has a loose rule that says any prices you display online have to match what's posted on Uber Eats. I say it's loose because restaurants just raise their prices on Uber Eats anyway and not

This type of design seems very unforgiving to defects. I think the only place they can get away with a bad core is in the GPU portion. Mind you it’s pretty small at 82mm^2.

It would be weird (and cool) if Apple ends up being the company to provide easy off the shelf access to a powerful Arm workstation.

They might control the DSLR space, but they certainly hold no candle to Sony, Fujifilm, and co in the mirrorless space. There’s no shortage of extremely high quality lenses there too. I thought mirrorless cameras were already outselling DSL

It’s funny. Apple’s UI has taught me how to use emacs instead of the other way around. I use Ctrl-A and Ctrl-E all the time.

I was waiting for Craig to say that every Mac with a T-series chip could be used as a dev platform, since they're pretty strong on their own. Oh well. Maybe to smooth things over they'll ship an A-series co-processor with those Ma

I think it'd do just fine. The A12X has 10 billion transistors. Sandy Bridge has 1 billion.

Windows on Arm might not be able to make use of all the secret sauce and custom silicon these chips are bound to have. Who's going to put in that work?

I mean, is the iPad Pro not evidence enough? The A13 is much, much better than the chips in RPis.

I wonder what an alternate timeline would look like where Apple went for AMD semi-custom x86 chips instead of Arm. The Mac Pro would have 64 cores, MacBooks would have great APUs, and Apple would be able to segment their products at their o

I'm curious to see if they'll open up access to the T-series chips in our existing Macs to at least experiment with or use as a co-processor. The T2 is no slouch—it's based on the A10. It also makes me wonder if they'll

There’s definitely something to be said about poking a physical pin in assembly. It makes me feel like I actually have control of the computer, and that I’m not just along for the ride.

As someone else mentioned in the other thread, it's a bit odd that they're aiming for 5nm production at this fab in 2024 because 3nm should be ready to go by then. You'd sorta think that since they're already breaking gr
