I’m not an Intel employee or contractor, I’m only going off what I’ve heard from about contractors being treated poorly on campus as you described. More crucially, the red tape around information access severely limits contractor’s abilities to actually do their jobs. From what I understand, certain tasks require a their blue badge manager to sign off on and grant access, but the managers have giant dispersed teams to manage and are hard to get to.
- Firerouge 6y agoThat's interesting to hear, it definitely sounds like the system may be having unintended consequences on overall productivity. Bulk categorizing of employees could also be emblematic of management's inability to build a stable company culture. There doesn't seem to be a necessary reason to carry on the system as is, if access control can be dolled out sanely on project scale or a person by person basis.
